The RG CubeXX stands out with its square 3.95-inch 720x720 screen, an excellent match for the 4:3 and 1:1 systems that dominate retro libraries, plus dual analogue sticks and a touchscreen. It runs the familiar H700 platform with muOS and Knulli, handling everything up to PS1. Widescreen content gets letterboxed and it is a sprite-era machine, but as a distinctive, comfortable square handheld it is a fun, affordable choice.
